Tensilica’s QSound microQ Application Package
Tensilica's implementation of QSound's microQ audio components for the
Xtensa HiFi 2 Audio Engine includes a MIDI wavetable synthesis engine with a scalable sample set, a multi-channel stereo mixer, a wide range of processes to control frequency response, dynamics and spatial enhancements, as well as full 3D positional audio for games. QSound's microQ audio technology is a compact, highly efficient software audio engine providing functions such as polyphonic ringtones, video game sounds, music playback, digital effects and recording for portable applications, including Internet appliances, hand-held and mobile devices.
The microQ audio application package is a fixed-point implementation in C code available in either object or source code. Included documentation describes how to incorporate the decoder into a system. Using this package, system developers can integrate QSound's MicroQ components into an SOC without the need for additional optimizations or software development. The same Xtensa HiFi 2 Audio Engine is used for other Tensilica audio codecs, enabling the development of highly optimized multi-standard audio SOC designs.
