Tensilica's implementation of QSound's microQ audio components for the Xtensa HiFi Audio DSPs includes a MIDI wavetable synthesis engine with a scalable sample set, a multi-channel stereo mixer, a wide range of processes to control frequency response, dynamics and spatial enhancements, as well as full 3D positional audio for games. QSound's microQ audio technology is a compact, highly efficient software audio engine providing functions such as polyphonic ringtones, video game sounds, music playback, digital effects and recording for portable applications, including Internet appliances, hand-held and mobile devices.
The microQ audio application package is a fixed-point implementation in C code available in either object or source code. Included documentation describes how to incorporate the decoder into a system. Using this package, system developers can integrate QSound's MicroQ components into an SOC without the need for additional optimizations or software development. The same Xtensa HiFi Audio DSPs are used for other Tensilica audio codecs, enabling the development of highly optimized multi-standard audio SOC designs.
QSound supports Tensilica on their full range of products including, but not limited to, microQ, mQSynth, mQ3D, MQFX, and QVoice.
