Utilization of Tensilica's Tools:

To make students obtain the ability of system level specifying and designing, know how to design and use configurable and reconfigurable RISE CPU and design a system-on-chip with it. Outcome: $10,000/year, for EDA tools license, work station maintenance. Key challenges: ESL design trend knowledge.

Outline of Curriculum and Courses

  • Digital IC Design: Digital circuit design methodology, timing issue, arithmetic units and memory structure, etc.
  • Analog IC Design: Op design, A/D and D/A design, etc.
  • Advanced DSP Technology: Digital signal processing design and implementation with Matlab and FPGA.
  • Embedded System Design: Software/Hardware co-design in embedded system.

Student/Assistant Outreach

  • Advanced Computer Architecture - 35 master students per year
  • SoC Design - 50 master students per year
