Research using Tensilica's Technology

We target at developing in-car mobile multimedia SOC chips. We have developed more than two dozens of IP's, such as: GODSON-1 CPU, PCI, SDRAM/DDR, DMA controller, MAC, PWM, USB 1.1, AC'97, PS2 and etc. We have taped out two chips in the field of industrial control and in-car information. Next, we will enhance these chips at video compression, decompression and 2D graphic. So far, it is difficult for us to design such IP's from scratch in a short time, but we expect to use Tensilica tools to generate these multimedia IP's as mentioned above. We have EDA tools from the front end to backend in IC design.

There will be about 30 students/assistants using Tensilica tools per year. Two or three of them are at grade 4, nine at grade 3, and nearly ten at grade 2.

Five or more graduates will join in college recruiting programs with Tensilica.
