Tensilica Establishes Asia/Pacific Region Presence, Opens Taipei Office

New Operation headed by Joseph C. Wang

Taipei, Taiwan/Santa Clara, Calif. – March 7, 2001 ... Tensilica Inc., the Santa Clara, California (USA) provider of application-specific processor technology, today formally announced the creation of a sales, marketing and support operation to serve the company’s Asia Pacific markets. The new outpost is located in Taipei, Taiwan, and is headed by Joseph C. Wang, director of Asia/Pacific Sales. In this capacity, Wang reports to Bernie Rosenthal, vice president, marketing and business development.

Making the announcement, Rosenthal said, “Through the opening of the Tensilica A/P office, we have added an important piece to our worldwide sales and marketing network. And I’m particularly delighted to welcome Joseph Wang to the organization. His track record of prior successes in serving customers in this critical market augur well for our aggressive growth objectives.”

About Joseph Wang

Joseph C. Wang is a seasoned sales and marketing executive with over 18 years of global experience in high technology. Prior to joining Tensilica early this year, he spent three plus years as a senior marketing manager with National Semiconductor’s Mediamatics Group based in Fremont, California. In this capacity, he was responsible for developing and managing the Asia Pacific marketing of Mediamatics’ “Pantera” DVD System-on-Chip products. Earlier, Wang was senior marketing manager with National Semiconductor’s Cyrix & LAN Business Unit based in Taiwan. Prior affiliations include stints with Houtek Corporation and Tseng Labs.

Wang holds a BS in Management Information Systems from California State University (Fresno, California, 1982) and a BS in International Trading awarded by the Tamsui Oxford College (Taiwan, R.O.C., 1977).
