Intrinsix Named an Authorized Design Center by
Tensilica
Santa Clara, CA, October 9,
2000 – Tensilica, Inc., a Santa
Clara-based provider of configurable application-specific
processor cores and development tools for System-on-Chip
(SOC) designs today announced that Intrinsix
Corp. has been appointed a Tensilica Authorized
Design Center and a charter member of the Tensilica
Xtensions™ Network Program.
Design Centers provide essential services to many
organizations that are defining and building their
leading edge SOC designs today. Through the company’s
Authorized Design Center program, a part of the
Tensilica Xtensions Network Program, Tensilica
ensures that these services will be available to
its licensees. Tensilica Authorized Design Center
engineering personnel receive extensive training
on the Xtensa™ architecture, configuration
and software development tools, on-going support
and access to technology updates, and direct access
to applications engineering.
Tensilica and Intrinsix have recently partnered
to support a major developer of Internet Appliances,
connectivity products and interactive toys that
is creating a series of Xtensa processor powered
products. Configurability of the Xtensa processor
and third party expertise in SOC design, system
software development and integration were critical
factors in the selection process.
“Intrinsix is one of the premier design
services companies supporting customers with complex
multi-million gate SOC designs and companion system
software,” stated Bernie Rosenthal, Tensilica’s
vice president of marketing and business development. “As
a Tensilica Authorized Design Center they will
serve a critical role in enabling designers to
exploit the full benefits of the configurable Xtensa
platform. Our design win with Intrinsix clearly
demonstrates this. We are excited to be working
with them to assist our customers in meeting their
demanding performance and time to market requirements.”
Josh Schissler, vice president of business development
at Intrinsix commented, “The Tensilica Xtensa
architecture provides a powerful ability for SOC
customers to add functionality to their processor
to meet the individual application requirements
of their designs. Intrinsix as a certified design
center will offer Tensilica customers combined
hardware / software expertise based on our deep
experience in SOC design and verification. This
combination will provide the means for some of
the most powerful technical solutions to be brought
to market in the shortest possible time frame.”
