Tensilica Closes Third Funding Round

Santa Clara, Calif., July 26, 1999 .Tensilica Inc., a leader in the emerging market for application-specific processor technology, disclosed today that the firm had closed its third round of funding, raising $20 million from a combination of high technology manufacturing companies, venture capital firms and private investors. The new funding raises the company's capitalization since founding to $33 million.

Leading the financing was second round investor, Foundation Capital of Menlo Park. Additional third round investors, presented in alphabetical order, are Altera Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTR) of San Jose, Calif., Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) of San Jose, Calif., Comdisco Ventures (NYSE: CDO) of Menlo Park, Calif., Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd. (NYSE: MC) of Japan, Oak Investment Partners of Palo Alto, Calif., and Worldview Technology Partners of Palo Alto, Calif.

Chris Rowen, Tensilica's president and CEO said "As we pass this milestone, we are particularly encouraged by the investments from world class, high technology companies like Cisco, Matsushita and Altera, and, of course, the renewed votes of confidence received from Foundation, Oak and Worldview."
