Tensilica's DPUs are ideal for many applications within set-top boxes. Intel has used Tensilica's HiFi 2 Audio Processor in its newest lines  of consumer SOCs:

The Intel Atom processor CE4100, designed to bring Internet television to digital TVs, DVD players and set-top boxes, is upward compatible from the CE 3100 and also includes two instances of the HiFi 2 Audio DSP. See Intel's product brief.

Intel CE4100

The Intel Media Processor CE 3100 (formerly codenamed "Canmore") for Internet-connected CE devices includes two Tensilica HiFi 2 audio processors. The Intel Media Processor CE 3100 is designed for set-top boxes, media players, and TVs.

In the CE 3100, dual 337 MHz Tensilica DSP cores with Tensilica Instruction Extensions (TIE) are used for advanced audio codecs with up to 7/1 channel output, supporting Blu-ray requirements independent of the Pentium M processor core.
