Corporate Quality Goal

Delivery of a high quality product is essential to Tensilica's customers and therefore essential to Tensilica's success. Tensilica is committed to continuously improving its products through appropriate design, testing and customer engagements. We strive to ensure our products are defined to meet the most demanding needs, and are built to fully meet those product definitions. We measure our success by the success of our customers and their products. We regularly review quality policies, product performance and customer experience to improve both our policies and our procedures. We work to make all aspects of product development and delivery timely, well-documented, and repeatable.

Quality Principles

For Tensilica, quality means satisfaction of customers’ needs and expectations for complete, easy-to-use product in conformance with its documented specification. Quality is both a technical and operational imperative, because superior quality improves the performance of products and business for both Tensilica and our customers. Quality is not the activity of a single group, but a Tensilica-wide process. Quality improvement includes setting goals, establishing processes to meet those goals, evaluating our performance against those goals and taking concrete action to improve products, processes and organization to ease further quality enhancement.

Communications are an essential part of quality. Reliable and open exchange of information on customer needs and Tensilica plans, policies, and issues provides the foundation for continuous improvement in the fit of Tensilica products to customers’ needs

Quality Policies

The root of product quality is clear, documented policies and reproducible procedures for product definition, development, testing, release, maintenance, and support and issues communication. Tensilica has established and uses agreed procedures for these phases of the product life-cycle:

  • Product definition and design
  • Product testing and release
  • Product support and maintenance
  • Customer communication

Our procedures include specification and maintenance of appropriately-detailed product definitions and test/release plans for each Tensilica product.

Quality Organization

Quality is the job of the whole Tensilica team. The Quality Council is a senior management committee focused on setting corporate and product quality standards, ensuring rigorous quality process discipline, establishing adequate design and testing resources for the components and integration of Tensilica’s product, encouraging a strong internal quality culture and supporting open and timely customer communication. The quality council includes senior managers responsible for product definition, development, testing, QA, maintenance and customer support.
